Boys Tennis started in Madison

Boys players: singles Robert Blewitt, and doubles Robert Blewitt and Robert McMillan.

Kelly Sullivan, 2nd place men's, flight 1, and second place in flight 1 doubles. 

Laurie Hunter, Woman's 2nd place, flight 1

Tony Simmons, ESD conference champ in both singles and doubles

*Note: 1972 was the year the state added flights going from one flight to four singles flights and two doubles flights.

At some point the state changed it to six singles flights and three flights of doubles.

Ella Graham, 4th place, flight 1, fourth place flight 2 doubles (with CC Graham)

Ella Graham, 4th place flight 2 singles, 4th place flight 1 doubles (first top four finisher in 50 years)

Only time ever:  Small school wins a trophy in South Dakota tennis, girls win 6th place at South Dakota state tournament.  Also first time ever, all six varsity players (for a small public school) won a medal.
