Patents:
We filed a provisional patent to study increasing the frame rate of a cell phone, so it could be used for making tennis line calls. The phone would be attached to the net post. We determined that the patent would soon be overcome by technology, and low cost high frame rate cameras will be available soon.
The concept was to use a monochome image, and use each color as a separate frame, essentially allowing millions of frames per second. 320 frames per second are needed to track tennis balls.
